Recently adopted kitten one week in August, which seems to have many health problems.?
He had his first vet check and all immunizations are up to date at this point. He had fleas, so most of it applies. We also have two cats and others, and were treated equally. A day or two Later, I realized that his ears had brown stuff in them. The vet may be thinking earmites the'm dealing with a gel like ear down every two days and cleaned with a cotton swab. It seems to be shaking his head long after the first cleaning of the ears and folds about his head. It is also sneezing / coughing makes a rattle When he lies, almost as if he had smoked for years. My question is, are these things normal? Earmites How contagious? Is there a URI? What I can do for him? Still seems to be eating and drinking well and shows no signs of conjunctivitis or a large amount of nasal secretion yet. If Please help. Am a bit overwhelmed.
Just relax a little. You take good care of him. Earmites are quite common and is what we go. They can jump from one cat to another. If cats get them, you'll know what to do. As for the cold ", which is also common in a kitten. There is an inherent tension as it adapts to its new home which is normal and the immune system can not be running as hard as it is. You just have to watch what you eat, usually works, etc. If you develop breathing problems or stop eating, then it is time for the veterinarian to determine the best way to treat it.
